The manilenyo indie rock band is back at it again, bringing new tunes that are always in line with the times. The three friends come at listeners with an all-new style, releasing their first ever English single, Live Like Never Before. 46 Hope St. has always been known to draw creative inspiration from current events and artistically share their own take on matters, and this time’s no different. As our country and the whole world go through an emotionally and politically charged year, Meds Rana (Vocals and Guitar) thought back to some of his compositions from a simpler time.

He shares that “Live Like Never Before” was originally written six years ago as a song inspired by a slogan from their church community. Of course, a lot has changed in the world in those six years. Along with the help of the whole band, the song was rewritten to tackle the world better as it is today. After hearing the new single, Listeners are sure to come away with a clear and true message: As we move forward with how the world is now and how our country is now, it’s important to remember that you only have this one life. When you wake up in the morning, open your eyes, and breathe in a new day… remember to make the most out of life, you have a purpose here, and God’s work is never done.

The sage words shared by the band’s drummer, Aaron Paul Dolleton, are unequivocally the ones Filipinos need to hear as we move forward together. The band’s choice to convey this message and release the single in English came completely spontaneous, they share. Prompted by fond memories from their younger years with eagerness to have their music appeal to a wider audience, the gents flexed their creativity in a completely different language than what they were used to. Though the trio still prefer writing in our mother tongue as they feel like they express themselves best that way.

The new experiences don’t end with just the songwriting process for this single. The recording process for “Live Like Never Before” was also sort of a worldwide adventure. As Rana is currently spending time overseas, his vocals were recorded in Katha Music Studio, New York, while Dolleton and Gonzales recorded their drums and bass parts at Crows Nest Studios, Philippines. While the magic of recording all together in the studio is certainly something to behold, these friends have grown up together and seen each through countless ups and downs. They weren’t about to let something like a few hundred thousand miles hold them back.

Ryan Gonzales, who plays Bass, shares that it’s always up to you to break or bend. Whatever you’re faced with, you always have to look at the brighter side of things and be ready to take on a new day. Despite not being in the studio together, they’re happy to be able to make things work and release “Live Like Never Before” on time. The time apart has fortunately given them the space to take a closer look at their individual lives, spend time with their families and take a slight breather to come back stronger than ever. 46 Hope St. continues on their journey of musical evolution, working with industry greats like Ebe Dancel, Neil Gregorio, and Vic de Vera here at Widescope Entertainment. They’re working hard and hoping to release significantly more music and hopefully play more live gigs together in the future.

As a message to their fans, the band has this to share: “We’re all so thankful for all of our fans. Thank you for being so supportive, for always listening to every release, and for being with us on this journey. We’re working hard to bring you more music you’ll hopefully enjoy. We hope everyone’s safe. Keep your heads up and continue fighting the good fight!”

We’re looking forward to the incredible futures ahead of you, Meds, Aaron, and Ryan! Congratulations on the successful release of “Live Like Never Before.” Your Widescope Entertainment family is excited to see what you three do next!
