Widescope Entertainment’s 46 Hope St. releases their new single, “Telescope,” a song of hope and inspiration that’s sure to uplift listeners’ hearts. With its acoustic-driven foundation and steady beats, “Telescope” encourages us all to look at our lives with optimism, even in the most trying of times. The trio behind the special track – Meds Rana (vocals/guitars), Aaron Dolleton (drums), and Ryan Gonzales (bass) – share that they hope listeners find solace in the song’s empowering message.

Meds, who wrote and composed the song, explains that he’d actually written the song several years prior after coming across a quote that says, “Hope is like a telescope. It helps you see the distant future.” The idea resonated with him as amidst all the chaos in life, sometimes only through hope can a person not only survive but thrive – a sentiment that served as the driving force behind “Telescope.”

Meds further explains that while most of the song’s parts were already written out, it was the collaboration with his bandmates that gave new life to “Telescope.” Aaron shares that he stuck to simplicity for drums, working with the existing drum sounds from Meds’ original imagining of the song. On the other hand, Ryan had fun with the bass line, adding melodic and groovy beats to go with Aaron’s steady rhythm. He had fun experimenting of adding his version of a walking bass line in the bridge, augmenting variety to the song.

“Telescope” marks the band’s first-ever English release, a stark comparison to their Tagalog repertoire. Musically, however, they’ve stayed true to their style, featuring guitar, drums and bass elements while experimenting with time signatures in the song’s intro versus its verses and the chorus. The song is also a call back to the band’s very beginnings of wanting to create music that inspires hope and can help listeners shift their perspectives in life through music.

Recorded at Crow’s Nest Studios, famous for being the home studio of Ely Buendia and Aubrey Dionisio, and Med’s New York City apartment, “Telescope” is a reminder of the band’s mission and a declaration of how far they’ve come. With the support of Widescope Entertainment’s Ebe Dancel as A&R Manager, Neil Gregorio as Director and Vic de Vera as president of the label, 46 Hope St. continues to create music that brings a positive change in the lives of many.

Listen to “Telescope” by 46 Hope St. and discover that believing in hope and looking at life from a different lens are the first few steps to being closer to your dreams.
