For Jonie, the day started just like any other at Widescope. She checked her messages and went on preparing her deliverables for the day. It was only when coworkers started congratulating her that she realized: today was her one year anniversary at Widescope.
“To be honest, I did not even realize that it has already been a year. Everything flew by so fast. I feel very happy and blessed. I am thankful for the mentorship of bosses. I’m also grateful for the support of my coworkers. Everyone at Widescope has been really encouraging and motivating since day one. There is a healthy kind of pressure that inspires you to grow and everyone here treats each other like family.”
As someone who used to be very nervous before presentations and facing clients, Jonie credits her role as an Account Executive for helping her build confidence and reach her personal goals.
“Unlike before, I no longer get scared when I have to present or interact with clients. I was able to overcome my nervousness. Now, I easily communicate my thoughts and get the message out effectively to everyone I work with. Being an Account Executive also helped me gain more exposure to the world of advertising. I was able to learn more about what goes on inside managing a brand.”
Regarding her future in the agency, Jonie wants to continue to push herself beyond her comfort zone and achieve more success and personal growth.
“Being an Account Executive can be challenging because not only do you have to juggle all your tasks, but you also act as the bridge between the client and creative. It is up to you to find the perfect balance to keep everyone satisfied and avoid miscommunications. When both the client and creative are happy, I know I have done my job right. It feels very rewarding when I know I have my clients’ and coworkers’ trust. I want to continue to learn every day and gain more skills that I can apply to future challenges. I also want to be able to advance my leadership skills further and take on more leadership roles. There may be lots of challenges but with each comes a set of new learnings. There is not a day in Widescope that is not memorable.”
