The heart of every advertising agency undoubtedly lies with its creative team. They are the lifeblood of any great campaign. As Widescope continues to grow, our creatives have also risen to challenge. Their dedication to continued growth, endless imagination, and excellent work ethics have immensely contributed to our successes. It’s with this at heart that we happily congratulate our creative team regarding their recent promotions. As the saying goes, a team is only as great as the sum of all its members, and this team is certainly spectacular. Dubbed as Widescope’s creative super squad, let’s take a closer look at the individuals who have changed game.
First up, we have Nadine Bandong, who joined our ranks as a fresh graduate in 2018. Nadine, who once considered herself a little timid and shy during her first few months, quickly saw herself growing not only as an artist but as an individual. She shares how she’s overcome the difficulties of being a careful learner over time while staying in an incredibly fast-paced environment—attributing it to her willingness to put in the hours in order to hone and develop her skills. Nadine’s desire to learn on the fly and constantly deliver has definitely paid off as she’s now been promoted to Senior Graphic Designer.
Next up, we have a trio of creatives whom are all equally essential part of the creative team and have truly made their mark, not just with their artistic capabilities but as teammates as well. Theresa Eloriaga, Michael Herradura, and Rommel Rebucan all take their next steps together in their Widescope journey as Junior Art Directors. Though the three are all incredibly different, their creative talents, utmost respect for their superiors and respective roles in inspiring the team are at the heart of their success. As they take on a more active role in the team, their mentors have laid the groundwork for seamless collaboration between the artists.
Looking out for another and lifting each other up not just with every achievement but also in times of disappointment has cemented the bonds of the creative team. Breaking the traditional boundaries of cooperation and going the extra mile for one another in times of need has helped every member feel comfortable enough to let their guards down and truly let their imaginations soar. For Alejandro Balawag, this was a major factor in his journey to becoming a Senior Art Director. His relationships with his peers have transcended the workplace and evolved into valuable friendships in the playground we call life. The team’s ability to channel their inner child and turn a creative idea into an actual visual with insightful inspiration is one of the most commendable parts of being a creative.
Of course, like any other career, the pursuit of creative growth entails a willingness to learn and adapt to the ever-changing landscape. Learning from some of the best and brightest mentors out there has been the highlight of Tania Nolasco’s rise to becoming the team’s Junior Creative Director. She shares that she’s always considered learning as a two-way street. As her mentors have guided her on her path, she also shared on how her own mentorship of other creatives and the friendship she has with her peers have significantly helped her navigate the ups and downs of being in the role. Working alongside people of different ages, backgrounds, and skill levels has made for many fulfilling memories of learning and triumph for Tania as an artist and mentor herself.
Lastly, we have Ruth Castillo. Recognizing that good leadership is defined not by your personal achievements but by those you have helped along the way is what has helped Ruth achieve her position as an Associate Creative Director. She shares that she dreamt of seeing her work on billboards during her first few years with the company, and she’s definitely made that dream come true. However, as time passes, seeing the younger artists under her tutelage produce amazing visuals and working their way up the company ladder has been some of her proudest moments. Living up to the expectations and managing the pressures of being a leader is no easy task but Ruth shares that beyond the recognition, the awards, and approved artworks – it’s the team that’s kept her centered and grounded.
Holding on to your “why” as an artist is crucial to your longevity. Why do you continuously push your creativity to its limits and regularly withstand the pressure of deadlines and deliverables? If it’s for anything less than your immeasurable love for your craft and the work you do, then it can be easy to veer away from the right path. While creativity is anchored in freedom, its implementation also requires discipline. Balancing the line between both worlds is an art in it itself and necessary for a fruitful journey. Widescope’s creative team continues to evolve and strive for greatness from its leadership to each team member.
Congratulations again, Nadine, Tere, Michael, Benok, Ali, Tania, and Ruth, on your recent promotions! Your team is an inspiration for all of us here at Widescope! We hope to always do your hard work and creativity justice!
