While Chin makes excellence look effortless, she reckons that her job is “not a walk in the park.” She shares, “Even if I think I know every process, every account and every requirement by heart, there’s always something that surprises me. And that’s what I love about my work! There’s no one sure way to get things done. Again, each experience is unique & it teaches you something valuable. You explore continuously & learn along the way.”

By August 2020, Chin has embraced managing Widescope’s non-QSR unit and working hand-in-hand with the business development department in securing new accounts and expanding the agency’s network and services. Although she has obtained numerous milestones over the past years, she considers handling the Widescope Accounts Team and non-QSR unit her biggest achievement. She believes that it’s an honor to work with talented individuals, having fulfillment in watching everyone grow and succeed.

As she continues to learn more about the industry and exceed expectations, Chin keeps her motivations close to heart. Her top inspirations include her family who supports her “no matter what” and clients and projects that allow her to appreciate diverse characters, personalities, and experiences she encounters. Of course, she never forgets the Widescope team she now considers her family as well.

“When I see everyone giving their very best at what they do, it makes me want to work harder & do better,” she fondly thinks of the team. “They deserve an Account Officer & Teammate who shares the same passion & drive as them.” When she entered Widescope four years ago, she thought of the team as close-knit, passionate, and driven individuals working together to deliver outstanding results, and until now, her perception remains the same.

Chin strives for growth every day, and with her grit and solid support system, she has been promoted to Senior Account Manager in June 2021, welcoming greater responsibilities in the agency. She expresses her delight in being in charge of a huge role: “I’m always grateful for Widescope’s faith in me. Widescope is a huge chunk of who I am as an individual & all my experiences here, I consider as a vital part of my journey.”

As she looks forward to what the future has in store for her, she also recounts her experiences from being an Account Executive to Senior Account Manager. She believes that, even if given the chance, she wouldn’t do anything differently because “every bump on the road served its purpose.” She also imparts this insight for people who are starting or want to venture into the advertising industry:

“There are countless pieces of wisdom that I want to share to individuals who want to venture to/ are new to advertising. But if I could only share one, it’s that passion for life is what’s gonna motivate you to keep going. Advertising is never about fake claims, framing or deceiving people. It’s always about seeing the beauty in everything & telling meaningful stories that people would relate to. It’s about having a voice and choosing what to do with that voice/power. Similarly, advertising is not a ‘job.’ It’s something that’s embedded in your everyday lifestyle. You have to have that passion for life/drive in order to survive this world.”

Inasmuch as Chin finds fulfillment in her contributions to the agency and in the advertising industry, Widescope is also honored to have her aboard as a reliable Senior Account Manager, colleague, and confidante. We are excited to see more of her progress and happiness.
